Welcome VA/DC HFMA Chapter Members, Friends, and Guests,
Thank you for stopping by our site! It is a pleasure to serve you as the president of the chapter this year. Under Phil Graybeal’s leadership this past year, we achieved many successes including a return to financial stability, a Silver Award for Membership Growth, Gold Awards for Education Quality and Certification, four Yerger Special Recognition Awards, and one Multi-Chapter Yerger award. Thank you, Phil, for all the hard work and great leadership.
Our chapter is coming off an amazing year and I hope to maintain the momentum! Our board is still in the process of setting goals for the upcoming year and a strategic plan to encompass the next several years. We definitely plan to continue the phenomenal education we have provided in the past, provide excellent opportunities for networking and relationship building, and continue to strengthen the chapter’s financials.
Our association chair, Mike Allen, is also providing inspiration through his “Dare You 2 Move” theme. His theme “is a call to action meant to inspire people to get ‘unstuck’ and choose courage over comfort, which he views as particularly important in today’s rapidly evolving healthcare industry. As part of that, HFMA members will be encouraged to participate in the 1,000 Dares Project.”
In Mike’s own words, “Everybody can make something move and all of us can get stuck. There’s a lot of talk in our industry and around the country, so this is a call to action to say, ‘let’s do something about it’ and let’s not be afraid to fall down so we can pick ourselves back up.”
Of course, we can’t do any of this without you! So, I Dare You 2 Move! This challenge applies to you professionally, personally, and of course in your volunteer life. If you haven’t already, help us move the VA/DC HFMA chapter forward, email us at email@example.com to start getting involved right away. We look forward to seeing you at one of our multi-day conferences in Richmond, Middleburg, or Virginia Beach or at any one of our single day educational events or networking events around the state.
